# GridCore > GridCore One is an all-in-one motorsport device for track days and racing: a precise GPS lap timer, a configurable race dashboard, a data logger and a video camera that records with a live telemetry overlay. Built-in 4G / LTE syncs every session to the cloud automatically, and GridCore Analyze, a web app, turns the data into coaching. Everything works standalone; connecting the car or extra sensors only adds more data. GridCore One is available through early access at https://www.getgridcore.com/#buy. Contact: hello@getgridcore.com. ## The device - 7" touchscreen, 1280 × 800, mounted on the dashboard or the windscreen. - Multi-constellation GNSS with 10 Hz GPS and lap times to the millisecond. - Car data over OBD2 and two CAN buses (CAN FD). - Bluetooth LE and Wi-Fi. - Built-in 4G / LTE mobile data. - Included camera: 1080p at 50 fps, recording with the overlay. It mounts separately, wherever you want. - Power from a single OBD2 cable, or the built-in battery. Every connection is optional. - Data out: MoTeC .ld, CSV and automatic cloud sync. ## Lap timing - Automatic track and direction detection: no track selection needed, just drive. New track configurations and reverse direction are picked up automatically. - Over 8,000 racing venues. - Live sectors, live delta to your best lap, and an optimal lap built from your best sectors. - In tested laps, lap times land within about 0.01 s of a transponder. ## Race dashboard The dashboard is highly configurable: choose the layout and the channels shown, right from the dashboard's settings. - Overview: lap delta, optimal, best, last and current lap, tire pressures and temperatures per corner, and engine vitals such as fuel, coolant, oil, charge air temperature and RPM. - Tread temperatures: sixteen infrared points across each tire, showing camber, pressure and grip balance while you drive. - Tire sensor comparison: the car's own tire sensors next to add-on Bluetooth sensors. - G meter, inputs trace (throttle, brake, steering) and an instrument cluster view. - Drag and acceleration timing from GPS: 0–60, 0–100 and 100–200 km/h, 200 m and 400 m, timed automatically on every run. - Live diagnostics: active fault codes (DTCs) appear as soon as the car stores them, labelled with the module that raised them. Known errors can optionally be cleared automatically. - Works on road cars through OBD2, as well as on cars with full CAN data. ## Data logging - Logs any channel you want: GPS position, speed, accuracy and time, IMU and temperature, and vehicle data such as throttle, brake pressure and coolant temperature. - Internal channels are logged at 10 Hz by default. Raw CAN data is kept automatically, so you get whatever data rate the car transmits (100 Hz and more). - Unlimited channels: ECU, GPS, accelerometer, tire pressure and temperature, driver sensors such as heart rate, and custom calculated channels. - Supported data sources: CAN, OBD2 / UDS, Bluetooth LE, MQTT and TPMS. ## Supported cars and ECUs - Any modern car through OBD2. - Advanced CAN data for Porsche, McLaren, BMW G-Series, Praga and more on request. - Any other CAN protocol can be added in seconds with a .dbc file. - Motorsport ECUs: AEM, Haltech, Link, MegaSquirt, MoTeC M1, MaxxECU and Pectel SQ6. - No ECU connection is required. GPS timing, track detection, video and core logging work on their own. ## Tire monitoring GridCore started as a tire monitoring dashboard, inspired by how inflexible other telemetry and dash systems were, so it supports a wide range of tire systems over CAN and Bluetooth: - IZZE infrared tread temperature sensors (16 channels per tire). - ALS Tire Bluetooth sensors. - McLaren factory TPMS. - Common Bluetooth TPMS sensors, both internal and external (valve cap). - Generic CAN TPMS receivers. ## Video - The camera is in the box. Recording starts and stops with your session automatically. - The overlay is drawn onto the video while you drive: no rendering, exporting or lining up footage with data afterwards. - The overlay shows live delta, best and last lap; throttle, brake, clutch and steering; speed, gear and the G meter with its trail; tire temperatures and pressures; coolant and oil temperature; and driver heart rate. It only shows what your car and sensors provide. - Live streaming: with a connection (built-in mobile data or a phone hotspot), video streams to your GridCore account with the overlay, so a coach or the pit wall can watch from anywhere. Everything is also recorded on the device, so a weak signal never costs you footage. - Nighttime recording is supported. - Extra cameras: record on an iPhone or Android phone at the same time, or bring in footage from a GoPro or Garmin dash cam, and GridCore lines it up with your session. ## GridCore Cloud and Analyze - Sessions, telemetry and video sync automatically over 4G / LTE or a hotspot. No manual downloads. - Near real-time lap and session sync, live telemetry and remote dashboard access for coaching from the pit wall. - GridCore Analyze is web-based and cross-platform, made to be useful even if you are not a race engineer: - compare laps by distance: speed, time delta, track position and every input aligned; - sector coaching: who wins each sector, where grip was lost and how much time is available; - color the racing line by braking, longitudinal or lateral G, or any other channel; - chart any channel side by side, including wheel speeds, diagnostics, steering angle and custom ECU channels; - session overview with optimal lap, consistency, peak speed and every timed lap, ready as soon as the car stops. - Sessions can be shared with a link. ## Open data and integrations - Sessions are saved in open MoTeC .ld plus raw formats, and can be exported as CSV. - Works with MoTeC i2, HackTheTrack, laplift.app and similar tools. - RaceBox can be used as an auxiliary or backup GPS and IMU over Bluetooth. - Sim racing through SimHub / MQTT. ## Frequently asked questions - **How simple is it to set up?** Place the device, connect optional power and optional CAN / OBD2 with the provided harness, and you're set. It works as a standalone GPS lap timer and logger; every extra connection unlocks more channels. - **How does it compare to AiM?** GridCore is more modern and cloud-first, with built-in 4G / LTE, so you don't need to download sessions. The coaching app is web-based and cross-platform, and a camera is included, so no extra products are needed. - **How does it compare to RaceBox?** GridCore is a complete motorsport system rather than only a timing tool. It can also use a RaceBox as an auxiliary GPS. - **Do I need an internet connection?** No. The device works completely standalone and records everything locally. A connection adds cloud sync, live video and remote access. - **What happens to my data?** Sessions are logged automatically in open formats, synced to your account for review on any device in GridCore Analyze, and can be opened in MoTeC i2 Pro, laplift.app and similar tools. ## Links - [Product page](https://www.getgridcore.com/): full overview with photos and screenshots. - [Early access](https://www.getgridcore.com/#buy) - [FAQ](https://www.getgridcore.com/#faq)
